for anyone interested in getting a set of potholder/fiddles....
I have searched for a set of potholders for my origo alcohol stove but its been hard to find someone who has them in stock.... and they are expensive.
BUT, in my search I have found another brand that works well with the origo stove that is way more affordable and readily available.
web search "contoure potholder" (without the quotation marks) and you will find them...
now if I could only find a set of the rubber fuel saver discs to seal the canisters when not in use. im not even sure what they are properly called....:)

For some reason I had the Origo instructions right next to my computer. Probably because I have a 1500 to sell. Those roundies are called "gaskets" in the instructions. Origo Stove, USA Inc, 1121 Lewis Ave, Sarasota FL, 33577. Dang, I just had one the other day on the boat. I doubt I threw it away, so maybe can find it?

I have used the center lids from Mason canning jars. Fit well and work. You can also cut up a cheap mouse pad. You can also buy at the Dollar store rubber discs used for opening jars. All of these have worked for me. The stove puts pressure on the gasket when in place and helps prevent evaporation. Or you can just contact Origo directly and they will sell them to you.

Origo gaskets are readily available...

from Defender and others. They are kind of pricey. Another poster once suggested using a rubber disc that is meant as a grip for opening jars. It sounds like it would work but I haven't tried it.

Good find, regarding rubber discs go ahead and make your own by cutting circles out of a rubber mat.

The fuel gaskets can also be purchased on the Contoure.com web site. I think the Contoure Cookmate is a knock off of the Origo stove. Seems identical except price is much less...

It's amazing how timely this forum is sometimes. I was just making a list of things to get before next season... (Potholders and I thought there should be a gasket of some kind.)
Thanks!
