Does anyone know where I could get the original cowls for my 1994 C320 ? Catalina has the new style to offer, but I would like to stay with the original ones. One accidently got caught on a stern line and went to the bottom...of course they don't float !

here's an original answer....

call the factory. www.catalinayachts.com ... or call you local catalina dealer.

As I mentioned, Catalina sells some new-style ones. I just sent them photos of the 1994 model. No sense drilling new holes in the boat, if I can get the original cover replaced.

sorry ron,

I failed to recognize that you'd already tried catalina. On the other hand, customer service might give you a hand in finding the manufacturer. Frankly, I don't think you'd have to drill any more than a few extra screw holes, which is no biggie. What I'd do is buy a few different models of clamshell vents and see which one fits best. Then take the others back. If you can't find one with matching screw holes, choose the ones that cover up the old holes, or buy the vents that don't have any predrilled holes so you can put them where you want. The vent hole itself should no pose a problem, clamshell vents are pretty basic size wise.

thanks Joe

I like your logic, Joe. If I can't get the originals, I will use your suggestions.
