Has anyone had any luck locating the upholstery fabric originally used on O'day 34's and 35's? Ours is the blue velour fabric with white/off white dots as seen in the photo. Our boat is a 1985 and the cushions look like new and we use and abuse our boat a lot!

Had pretty much the same in my '85 H-34, button tufts and all.. .. I could not find the exact match .. went with Ultrasuede in a light tan color.. We've been very happy with it

Look for "Sail Rite" fabrics. They have an array of marine fabrics that seems exhaustive.

Our '86 O'Day 40 had the same fabric and it does wear like iron.
We replaced it with Brisa a couple of years ago and really like it. Easy to care for, the cat can't hurt it, for and breathes somewhat.
If I were to do it again, without a cat, I'd use wool.

nramsey; You might want to rethink the use of wool for upholstery on a sailboat.

I wonder why wool, if there are new fabrics made by Sunbrella that don't fade after many years of use? Am I missing something?

We replaced our interior cushions last year after looking for that material everywhere, but to no avail. I have saved some of the fabric just in case someone else needed some.....

Not a big help but here is an old post I saved from a member who did an extensive makeover on his O'Day. I think it was a 27.

I don't think he found the actual original color pattern, just the fabric type.

My 1985 28 has the same dark blue velour w/ off-white dots. Still in excellent condition with only one button missing. I'm actually looking for someplace to take and have them cleaned. Anyone know of such a company in northern New England?
