I thought that anyone elso with a 1970's - 80's era C-30 might be interested to see the original sales sheet and price list order form. (Attached) This is the sales sheet from my boat from 1980 (ordered in '79). I also got a plumbing sketch from Catalina regarding the anti-siphon valve plumbing line on the 5411 exhaust. The top bleed/ screw on this valve was plumbed by Catalina with a lil' 1/4" drain line into the sink drain. When the valve fails, it allows raw water to come up the sink drain & overflow, if your sea cock for the sink drains are closed. Found this out the hard way when I was motoring the boat for the 1st time out, moving from a slip at Langley AFB to a dry dock haulout. It was quite a surprise to see water pouring out of the sink drains, when they were closed! FYI: Check your anti-siphon valves. My mechanic noted that they have probably been leaking like that for years, and its only because I'm strict about having sea cocks closed when not in use, that I found this out. Could have potentially flooded the boat. But all's well that ends well. Working on my major refit now, looking for more surprises. My P.O. seams to have removed about half of the original plumbing. No feeder supply lines connected to any of the water or waste tanks left.
Interesting! But not surprised, my P.O. was a Colonel in the USAF, and apparently he wanted a tight ship! (It was hauled clear across country from Oceanside, Cali. to here in Hampton, Va., courtesy of our tax $$ for relocation.) Somebody must have really loved this boat.

Thanks jrowan for sharing that info. I bought a 1980 Catalina 30 about 2 years ago and have notice that the siphon valve is not working properly. It looks to be the original valve. After hearing of your experience I'm going to check to see if my valve is connected to the sink.
