After Hurricane Ivan dies, I'm proposing to gather 40 sailboats for a trip down U.S. Highway 65, heading for Pensacola, or Mobile, Ala., where storm victims can choose another boat and get back to pleasure. It will also be a place where fleet owners can replenish their losses. My media experience will enhance this adventure, especially when television coverage of the highway caravan announces our impending arrival. Nearly all activity now limits buyers to "pick up" boats, but delivering them to their own turf will allow us to get adequate, not "rock-bottom" prices. Target takeoff date is Sept. 25.
