Several years sailing hoping to have opportunity to get picture for everyone on SBO to enjoy. So here is a sample of what we - sometimes - get to see in the Puget Sound country.

The only thing that jumps out of the Potomac River here are the carp when they are spawning. ;-)

They are really rare down here Charles, this was a family group teaching the young to hunt.

It's actually a rare treat here too

We don't see them often unless South of San Juan Island in Summer.

In the photos here we were just South of Possesion point when 2 pods came through.
They certainly caught us by surprise (2013)

Really great pictures gents. Thanks for sharing. Be great to see them up close one day. I am by the big ponds so no aquatic mammals for me unless I go to the Shed or zoo.

Too bad I missed getting a pic of the big male. It popped up right in front of our boat and rolled on top of the water. Until that I had no idea they were there. Certainly I was way too close to that one. All in all there were about 25 orcas from 2 diffrent pods transiting through.
