any one know what was in the spot of the white thing thats broken or the silver thing. what where these things part of? and what should i do?

Radio antena mount or a stern light is my guess. My boat had something similar that was also broken off near the transom so I removed it covered the hole. Later I might drill it out again if I decide to add a light or flag pole holder there.
Are you sure that it's not the remains of a pushpit? (Commonly called a stern pulpit).
I'm curious about the line running aft, starboard, that's cinched in the clam-cleat. ? You may want to use a 2 part epoxy primer/barrier coat before the top coats.? Traveler?

yeah i was thinking a flag or something like that i will most likely just removed the plastic and glass over the hole unless i can figure out what was there and replace it. I'm going to try and paint soon before it gets to humid here in SC I'm going to be pulling the keel soon and will be starting on that but for now iv been sanding teak and varnishing. i was just wondering if any one had a clue.
i don't think its a fishing rod holder its only about an inch wide and maybe 2 inches deep it is very corroded i thought it was for a top but its only on one side. i have know idea what its for but it kind of looks like where you would put a stern light but it already has a stern light so... any more guesses
the line that runs aft goes to a pulley that is on the stern then i think that it goes to the boom. sorry best pics i could get in the dark. the one line that is tied around the bar goes to the tarp i have on the boat i can take better picks during the day

That's a traveler control line........leading forward to the steering area.... very interesting placement of fairleads on that line's cleat... one in front on in back...strange.
Your best strategy at this point is to find a couple of completed Cat 22's.... study them... learn proper sailboat terms and names for the various equipment... take some pictures, then try to copy that to your boat..........get a copy of the Catalina 22 owners manual. Go to owner site, www.catalina22.org, you'll learn alot.
By the way..... on a sailboat, pulley's are called BLOCKS.... a block contains one or more SHEAVES (the wheel part) and are attached with SHACKLES.
Anyway, the block on the ubiquitous C22 traveller rail appears to be a replacement for the normal traveler car that rides on the tubing. When you look at other, complete, boats the solutions will become apparent.

i got my hands on a presser washer and was able to blast the whole boat it was really helpful in knocking off the remnants of scraped off barnacles. also i have a solar vent coming from west marine it was on sale for $99 and that will fill the hole on my forward hatch that currently has a duct tape covering the hole. is there any good chemicals that i can use that will help remove the oxidation and and wax recommendations
I just wanted to add that with the innerliner of a Catalina 22, it makes it difficult to pin point the origin of leaks. I thought my windows were leaking also so I re-sealed them only to have it still leak.....drove me crazy. I found out it was coming from an anchor deck pipe the PO installed. It was way up in the bow area and the water ran down the innerliner and leaked around the windows. After fixing the deck pipe leak the boat has been bone dry inside....even through this very wet winter we had.
