I would like to replace the bow eye but access can only be had by possibly cutting out the cockpit table storage space. The table was discontinued before I bought my 2001 model and I could make use of the area below the molded in case under the v berth. I am sure it is filled with styrofoam and probably should not be violated. Anyone ever opened that area up? Could it be a good idea? How do you get to the bow eye from the inside? --Stan

Stan, seems to me that...

There was an access panel to get to the bow eye, but was an interesting reach. Done more with a mirror than the eye ball. I'll have to check my picture archive to see if I have a picture. Jim S/V Java

What is in that area?

Jim, thanks for the reply. I don't see any way to reach the bow eye with a tool from the little access panel at the v berth end. Can you tell me what is in the area underneath the berth and would it be a bad idea to cut out the molded table holder in order to reach the bow eye?
