Opening ports O'Day 25

The head area opening ports in My 1976 O'Day 25 are failing -- hinges etc. Need to replace them, but need advice. Can't find Beckson ports that match the size. Opening is 5 1/4" by 15 1/4". Am guessing other 25 owners have also had problems with their opening ports. What size/brand do you use and what is your source?

Opening ports

Hey Popeye...............Didn't know that O'Day used opening ports on their boats (especially a '76 model). My '79 O'Day 25 had the original non-opening ports and I replaced them with Beckson opening ports to acheive a flow-thru ventilation system (I hated that smell you got when the boat was opened after a period of time). You 'aint never 'gonna find any opening port the same size 'cause you aint that lucky. So do the next best thing....... but the next size larger than your existing openings....... cut away a little wood with a jig saw and install your new ports. It's easy!!Good luck!!ken in sacramento
