I'm trying to find out if there is a schedule for when the tall ships of OpSail2000 are moving from Philadelphia to NYC. I figure a great way to view them will be in my 340 about five miles off Barnegat Inlet. Can anyone help?

I had the same idea for catching them on the Bay

Joe: According to the web pages listed below, the Baltimore contingent will sail "up the Delaware" on 06/29. Some of the boats in the Philadelphia contingent will be leaving on 06/28. Try visiting: www.opsail2000.org/web/events_baltimore.html or .../events_philadelphia.html

New York Schedule

According to the published schedule, it looks like the ships will be in Sandy Hook Bay on July 2. The website for the New York events is http://www.opsail2000.org/web/events_newyork.html. That says that the parde of ships will begin on July 4 as follows: 7/48:00 amThe Reviewing Vessel begins the INRFrom the George Washington Bridge, going south 9:30 am OpSail 2000 Parade of Sail 1. The USCG Barque EAGLE, leading the PARADE OF SAIL, will pass beneath the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge at 10:00 am. All vessels will weigh anchor according to the prearranged schedule and take assigned positions in the parade. 2. All vessels will pass in review between the Statue of Liberty and the Reviewing Platform. They will proceed up the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge. The vessels will then reverse course and proceed to assigned berths or anchorages The website says that more info can be obtained by e-mail from info@opsail.org. Tom FitzGibbon S/V Plan B

Joe where are you from?

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far way, I called Toms River home. I have some fond memories of Barnegat Bay and then again I can remember being aground in some of that Flat Bay Sound (north of the Route 37 bridge) and Silver Bay muck!
