Thanks for the responses to my post, (especially Alan Schulman as I have
found that I made an error when I advertised this engine. According to a
previous professional survey of my boat it is in fact a MD6A, not MD6B).
See below:
This is the original engine from my 1972 Albin Vega. Sadly it has gathered
rust and, despite it being in working order last October (2011), my local
boat yard recommends that I replace it, as they don't feel confident they
can maintain it. I can therefore make no guarantees about the mechanics,
particularly as I no nothing about engines.
The engine will be available from this week with the drive-shaft,
propeller, fuel tank and exhaust system. I have a range of original (and
bulky) manuals and diagrams for people who know about such things. It is at
the RNYC in Blyth, Northumberland, England.
Feel free to contact me at
wakeford.tom@**gmail.comwakeford.tom%40gmail.com if
you might want to make an offer, which will be donated to the Refugee Youth
charity. The main issue for most people on this list, I suspect, will be
the cost of transporting it.
I have had one expression of interest so far. If I don't have any firm
offers from members of this list by 26 May, I'll put some or all of the
above items for sale on ebay.[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
