Oops! Need tiller, not rudder

Sometimes, messages ought to be sent after morning coffee. No, my metal rudder is not rotting, but my wooden tiller is. Any help on sources for a new tiller for an '83 Cat22 would be welcome.

Catalina Direct has the original tiller and an improved mahogany/ash laminated version available (along with about every other part on the Catalina 22). I have their laminated model and it looks substantially better than the original. They also have improved tiller straps which don't flex like the originals. West Marine

Have you tried West Marine (if there is one in your area, if not try www.westmarine.com)? I noticed they had a reasonable selection of tillers on hand last time I was in the store. Not sure how they'd fit on a C22 though.

the 22 stock tiller is rather "flat", i.e. it's tough to get your legs under it and it's low to rest your arm on. I got the catalina 25 tiller- from I can't remember has a very nice rise and the extra heavy straps fron Catalina direct. the length is the same, the 25 tiller is just two brass flat washers wider than the rudder, and you wind up with the same good looks, higher stronger and more comfort.
