Yes, even us Great Lakes Sailors worry about hurricanes and their effects. While we don't receive the full brunt of the storm, we are subject to storm force winds and rain. The photo below shows, my boat in the remnants of a hurricane a while back. Winds were blowing in the 50-60 knot range and the surge in the harbor was wreaking havoc with the docks.

Two reliable sources for hurricane preparation are the BoatUS website and Practical Sailor magazine. If you live in storm prone areas reviewing the information on them will assist your storm preparedness.
