Online NOAA Custom Chart lets boaters create their own charts

I got an e-mail from NOAA about a new product offering. We all know that charts are available for download but printing them is a bit out of reach for those of us with only small printers. This new system will allow you to create your own chart size and download it as a PDF and print.
I haven't quite figured it out yet but it looks promising...

Also available for a good while now is Booklet charts. Print on both sides of an 8 1/2 x 11` sheet, and put into a 3 ring binder. I have the charts from Port Isabel, Texas to Pensacola, Fla in one book. Wonderful for running the ICW

Wow Charlie, that is a great new service offering from NOAA. I downloaded a booklet as a PDF and was able to add annotations and extract chart sections.

Charlie - again, thanks for sharing this link. I too sail the Tx Gulf Coast with plans to take my boat to P'Cola. I have downloaded what i believe are the booklet charts I will need. Do you have any printing tips in order for the pages to align and flow from one chart to the other in the booklet or will it do this when printed on 2 sided? again thanks - Jerry

My ex printed every other sheet, then turn the pages over, sorted them an printed the reverse side. Wasn't a huge problem.

I do recall that there is a gap somewhere in Louisiana, unless you print a whole extra chart, but it's only about 15 miles of ICW and nothing there of concern.

If you ever get to the Port Lavaca area, look me up, and we'll look the charts over
