woody, not sure I understand your question. You want to eye splice some line....what kind of line? is it triple strand or double braid or other? If double braid use my magic splicing tool, it is a wonderful tool. Search on the site and you'll get the information, plus it is free. My contribution to the site.
Triple strand is really easy, instructions can be had anywhere and no tools required except tape, and maybe a match to bond the ends of the strands for tucking.

sorry i didnt make that clear...... i just bought some VPC halyard 10mm line and it has a different weave than stay set along with a little different core as well and i was wondering if when i splice an eye in the end if i am to do it the same as i would on normal stay set line......thanks for the tip....i will look for it now....

.....if i am correct it is used like a fish tape that electricions use to pull wire(key word here is pull not push) i have been doing it like the video and not thinking out side the box you just use it like an extention of the core and lead it through the cover the same way you would use a fid...only when it comes out you grab it and pull everything through instead of pushing the fid through...makes perfictly good sence to me after seeing it.....golly gee Jibs138...Thanks for the inovation.....well done regards

Woodster, I'm pretty sure VPC is core dependent and takes a Class II splice which is different than splicing Sta Set. You'll like VPC but it is a bit slippery until it is used a bit. I've got 3 VPC halyards, I am replacing my primary jib halyard with a lower stretch one (V-100) for my new Kevlar genoa.
Guys, it all depends on what size line you are using. This works great on 5/8 and larger. For smaller line all you need is any stiff wire, bend it in half, make a few little hooks and follow the same instructions to do the same thing. I used seizing wire for my halyard to put a really small eye splice with the shackle inside it.
Yes Woody, I got the idea when I went and bought a splicing tool that was used this way, it was a brazed assebly and after two eye splices it snapped in half, so I asked myself why I couldn't just use stiff wire to do this and a coat hangar was readily available. So much easier than fids and pushers and the rest of the nonsense they try to sell you.

you are very correct JIBS138.......it is always easer to pull a chain than push a chain...again thanks for the heads up ....now if can only figure out how to keep the box lid open(thinking out side the box)
