We've an old (possibly 1981??) Onan MKDK 8 Kw w/ the 3 cylinder Kubota diesel (I cannot find the id plate). It has started to knock a bit on one cylinder, especially with a light load. We use straight 30 weight oil (we are in the tropics) with a cup or two of Magic Mystery oil and change the oil religiously every 150 hours.
Can anybody suggest anything (an additive, for instance) which might prolong the inevitable rebuild several years?
Thanks
