OMC saildrive powerhead replacement

Anyone know where I can find a replacement power unit for an O'Day 28 OMC saildrive--and how much I should expect to pay? Appreciate any help.

Try an Internet search for:

"boat salvage yard". I did this for my Volvo saildrive and found 2 units in Florida. One unit was the complete saildrive for $1000 and the other was just the lower half (exactly what I needed) for $300.Saildrives are not too popular so you will have to do a lot of calling around, but be persistant. Try Evinrude or Johnson parts

The OMC Zephyr SailDrive was basically a de-tuned 35 hp Evinrude/Johnson outboard powerhead. The Zephyr was 15 hp, but most internal parts are the same as the 20-35hp Evinrude/Johnson outboards of the time. So, you could also buy the powerhead for one of those outboards, I see them on eBay quite often, you could buy the whole outboard and sell what you don't use to make up part of the cost.
