Oday 22 Duxbury
Hello all,

(I have an Oday 22 (1973) sailboat.)

I could use a little direction here. I have an older roller furler I am trying to mount to my jib. Here are pictures. There is a cable that I believed ran from a mount on my bow to the jib halyard. But it is shorter than the actual jib. Has anyone seen this type of set-up?

Sail/cable/furler parts:

I have exhausted the internet….

Thanks,
Joe

For furling only

I had a similar system on a Pacific Seacraft Flicka that I once owned. Your headsail ( jib) must have a wire (luff-wire) luff. The upper swivel is attached directly to the head of the sail and the drum is attached to the foot of the sail. The drum is attached behind and independant of the head stay, and the luff wire must be of sufficient size to take the full strain of the sail. I notice that you have hanks on the sail. These must be removed in order to use the furler. I hope this helps.
