old "Standard" depth gauge replacement

My depth gauge is getting fogged up inside the gauge and i'm sure its on its way out. Its served well for 25+ years.

I don't know what the best course of action is to replace it. I've heard that you can use the old transducer on a new depth gauge (ST60) if its the right frequency. I'm sure many have replaced this but wanted to see how people have done it first before I jump into something.

Search for Airmar on the web. Call them with the model of depthfinder you have and they will tell you definitively if it will work with your desired replacement. They make ALL the transducers for everybody.

My old standard horizon was a perfect match for a new st60+ and it works perfectly. Connectors were incompatible so hot wiring was necessary. No big deal.

Its the DS45 and I will definitely get ahold of them to find a compatible replacement.

Jared. At 25 years old, technologies and accuracy have passed your transducer by. I replaced mine a couple of years ago. The gauge was 4" diameter. The replacement is 2". I cut a plate from aluminum and fitted it front and rear of the old casing, which I had gutted. A 2" diameter hole in the plate and it looks like it was made for the purpose.
