old Signet Transducer, New Head unit?

Hello to all,

just wondering if anyone thought it might be possible to buy a new display unit (of any manufacturer) and hook it up ( with some splicing perhaps) to my old thruhull Signet p80 (I think, away from boat at moment). I really don't want to mess with replacing the sensor if possible.

No. The technology has changed significantly. You might be able to find an old Signet unit on eBay.

The old technology was often proprietary, meaning a Datamarine display would not work with a Signet transducer.

They can repair the old head or replace it. I had my old head units for depth and speed rebuilt.. I am happy with the results.

thanks for the replies. just called them and they actually had a handful of the old P80 headunits lying around and one will be on its way across the country tomorrow.
