O'Day 272 1987 vintage. I've owned it 5 yrs.
Documentation from PO shows a Horizon DS45 manual with '98 date. Looks very similar, but not identical. Has started allowing water to get into back side cover in cabin.
Appears to have disintegrating O ring that holds instrument to face ring. Parts for DS45 does not show this.
Where can I get info/part to replace this O ring?
Thanks.

If I couldn't locate one, I'd try gasket cement or even butyl Tape. It shouldn't take much to seal the case.
Be sure to get all the moisture out of it before sealing it back up. such as keeping it with a fan in a warm dry environment or plenty of desiccant.

You may have the DS 1 series... the UK precursor to the American made DS 45 and 50.... parts for those older units no longer exist.... Luckily the DS 1 depth and speed systems are virtually unbreakable... unlike the wind system. You could take the instrument to a supply house like Grainger and try matching it up... if they don't have anything.. take Ken's advice. Shouldn't be too hard a fix.

Photo of DS45 appears to show face plate & instrument as one piece. Mine is 2 pieces, with O ring to fit on instrument, then push into faceplate with groove for O ring. May have to plaster it together with sealant like suggested...

You might try DMI - I think they're in CT - Google them. It's a long shot but ...

DMI says they don't carry parts for Horizon equipment. Guess I get to try the 'cram it full of sealant' option.

Plastered it back together today. It is a DS45. Not sure why mine has 2 pieces when display of DS 45 shows it as all one piece.
