Hello, Does an old cng tank have any value? Can it be used for anything other then cng gas? Does the valve have to be up-dated like on a propane tank? A co-worker gave me his old cng tank {last time it was certified was 1996} after he changed to a differant fuel. I would like to offer him something of fair value but I am not sure what it's worth. thanks,jack

I seem to recall that the refill price with a swap is about $16, but the can itself is worth about $40, can't confirm it. The valve doesn't have to be updated - good question. If you're using it for a backup on your boat, that's a great idea - we have one and don't you know that the first one always runs out of fuel when you're in the middle of cooking something?
Only other "reasonable" use I can see for it is to find a friend who's a dentist and fill it with laughing gas. *5 Stu
