My CDI reefer drum collapsed last week and the upgrade is causing me problems. Any suggestions for a quality replacement roller furler system for a C-30 standard rig 1982 boat

Harken or ProFurl would be my choice.

I used to have a Harken Mark III Roller furling on our last sailboat, on S 2 & it was an absolute piece of crap. It would get halyard wrap & jamb up all the time no matter how we rigged it.
Profurl is a much more robust furler that has a patented halyard wrap preventer built into the head swivel. But I have a Hood furler currently that got damaged last year. The drum plate assembly broke & I though it was done for. But I had a local metal-smithing shop make up new drum plates for me out of 316 s. s. to replace the UV damaged & brittle plastic drum plates that cracked & the furler is like new now.

I always try to fix what I have first before replacing, because at least I know it fits & worked at some point, & its always a challenge to retrofit something new.

Our current boat has a Schaefer Marine 2100. Its a bit overkill on our 31 foot Catalina but I don't mind that. I have seen a lot of C30's with the 1100.

On our old C&C 24 I installed an Alado system. I was very happy with the quality of this unit and it could use double headsails for downwind.

Good luck and fair winds,

Jesse

I too have an Alado on my C30. Had a Profurl on it when I bought it. Piece of junk. I put the Alado on it and have never looked back. Girls easy and seems heavy duty. 2 years and no problems.
