Oday 272 Water tank lines

I am trying to trace water tank lines...... I have port side and starboard side water fill on outside of boat. I have waste outlet starboard side. There is a water tank port side. Under the v berth there is a water bag and the water pressure pump. On starboard side I have the waste bag with a y connection to a macerator.

I have two sinks, one forward and one aft.

I have tried filling tanks and draining them and am confused where everything is going.

Does anyone have the pathway of these lines?

Questions I have....

There is "tube" that goes into the bilge and I have no idea where it is coming from but it does drain into the bilge sometimes?

Where does the aft sink drain?

Isn't the v berth water bag for the toilet? Should it be connected to the drinking water tank, because it seems that it is?

Where does the starboard side water fill lead to?

Much thanks to anyone that helps me trace these lines.

Only possible help I can give; the line into the bilge is usually the drain from the ice box and on the 28 and 34 the galley sinks drain directly to a single thru hull under the sink. The head sink drains to an above the water line mushroom. Could all be different on the 272.

not as a prototypical 272. the normal 272 has one 30 gal. water tank on port side under the settee. There is the water fill line and the vent line on port. The head holding tank is under the vee-berth with a vent line going to starboard and a pump out on starboard deck. There are no bags with the std. setup...the galley sink on the LE model goes to a thru-hull immediately below the sink. The ice box does not drain to the bilge...there is a Fynspray pump that pumps the water from the ice box directly to the galley sink..where it too goes thru the thru-hull noted above. Without a shower, the std boat sends nothing to the bilge....as to the tube into the bilge, the only thing I can think of is that the tube is from a limber hole, perhaps installed by the previous owner, but that does not exist on the LE model like mine....good luck in figuring this out. The 272 model icebox on mine drains to the bilge. Pat is correct about the water tank being on the port side settee. The deck fill on the port side is for that water tank. The hoses run from that tank underneath the floor then to the starboard settee then to the aft sink. The drainage for the aft sink is below the sink via a thru hull which you can turn off when not at the boat.

Thanks for the help. Something must be amiss with my plumbing then. When I filled the port side deck fill, it filled my port water tank AND the vberth head holding tank. Somewhere in filling and draining, the tube going to my bilge..... filled my bilge! I guess I have to continue experimenting with filling and draining..... slowly.

Good to know that the aft sink is supposed to drain through the hull.

I am thoroughly confused now! haha

I will report back any findings......if only for my own sanity!

You should have an opening below the head sink that shows you the path of the fill on the port side. Trace that down. In no way should your fresh water tank be connected with your waste tank. If so you have a big problem.

I should state mine is an LE model which maybe the only reason the ice box does not drain into the bilge...the Fynspray pump...It only worked for a few months and so then we bought a small portable elec. pump to use in the ice box...it has a clear vinyl hose that drains the ice box into the sink, then the thru-hull....Pat
