Hi Adam, Just to complicate your life abit more, what series is your Vega?
Lyric is hull #120. We purchased a wrecked Vega a few years back as salvage.
I can't remember the hull number but the mast was about a foot or so taller
than Lyric's. Lyric had a geared gooseneck and a removable crank to roll the
boom with. The new mast is one of those with a crank on the forward part of
the mast. The other big difference is the sail track on the old mast was
riveted on. With the newer mast it's an extrusion. If you have the riveted
one check the rivets for corrison. Also with the older mast the gooseneck
was on a riveted piece of track. To flatten the sail you used a downhaul to
pull the boom closer to the deck. Lyric's old mast is now part of a trawler.
The newer mast is on her. I'd send you the measurements but we have
non-standard turnbuckles connected to chainplates instead of the wishbones.
