Oil pressure alarm

The oil pressure alarm on my 310 (Hull #128) does not work. When I turn the ignition key, the alarm should sound, but it does not. I verified that the buzzer and the oil pressure switch are OK. I even had a diesel tech check it out. However, having consulted the wiring schematic, neither the tech nor myself can figure out how it could ever have worked! Believe it or not, I cannot recall when it stopped working, or even if it ever worked. Are there any 310 owners out there who have encountered this problem?

alarm

We bougt our 310 last August. Your boat has a 5 year warrenty so I would call the dealer and let him deal with it. He will call the engine mfg for you or have his local guy work on it I believe. We had a coolant leak and after 4 tries it was fixed. Roger

Warranty

Actually it's a one year limited warranty on items such as this and 5 years structural and hull. None the less I'm sure any reputable dealer would address it since it's probably a simple fix. My real question is how can you not remember hearing the alarm?? It is the loudest, most annoying thing when you turn the key on, I'd suspect it has never worked, you'd remember!

Easy Fix!

This sounds easy enogh: you already know that the switch and the buzzer work - just check the wiring or hook them up separately: The cable run is from the switch to one terminal on the buzzer, the other buzzer terminal connects to ignition (probably a purple wire connected to the switch). IF there is battery voltage (12V) at the ignition terminal of the buzzer and IF the switch works (i.e. connects to engine ground at motor-out), and IF there is a sound connection from engine ground to panel ground (if it weren't, the instruments and lighting wouldn't work) - THEN the buzzer must go off! Good luck Hans
