oil pan replacement

I was going for a sail and engine alarm came on. Looked at compartment and full of oil. Cleaned it out and filled it. Ran again and seems a leak is coming from pan. Has anyone replaced one before? It seems that I don't have to take the engine completely out but looking for advice.

Hi Stu
the engine is an m12 universal two cylinder diesel. Ran fine with no smoke quick start up
then the oil leak.

Whether or not you have to remove the engine to accomplish this repair depends on the amount of unobstructed room you have under the engine. The oil pickup tube extends to the bottom of the pan. You're going to have to drop the pan at least the full depth of it to get it out. Not sure what your engine bed looks like but that would never be possible on my Ericson.
