I have an 89 Catalina 30 with a Universal M25XP with what looks like a slight oil leak. It looks like the leak is coming from the oil pan gasket. Because of the very shallow bilge on the Cat 30, is it possible to replace it without pulling the entire engine. I think I can live with it for this season, but trying to plan ahead.

The job you have done in presenting an easly understood engine overhaul sequence is the best I've seen. Usually work done in the boat is doomed by dirt and the lack parts cleaning. Some don't understand the need for total sanitation and some are hampered by room. You have shown the results of correctly doing both. You have also covered the difference between a total overhaul (out of boat with crank, recon rods, cam bearings, liners, etc.) and an in-boat partial overhaul. Nice job. Ray
