A few years ago I did a fairly thorough search for the best oil for my motorcycle. I came up with Shell Rotella T, as being an excellent choice. Motorcycles, yes, but not cars with catalytic converters, as the zinc additive in the Rotella will destroy the converter.
Rotella T has been my favorite for my Yanmar as well. It's readily available, priced decently, and is excellent oil.
I attended a diesel seminar this spring and asked the instructor whether I should be using regular or synthetic. He recommended the regular, and that's what I'm using.
I had never heard of the Rimula before. A little searching on the net indicated that Rotella T is the better product. I use the 15-40.
