Can anyone give me a source for oil filters (OEM only) for VW Pathfinder, Diesel, 55hp, marine conversion. Engines found in 80's vintage Albins. Tnks Skip

Try a NAPA or autozone, etc. store
Oil filters are quite common in dimensions. If not in stock they can probably special order one. Take the old filter with you .... after you clean it out, etc. Most of the oil filters are made by only a few manufacturers ... all the rest are 'rebranded'. Should be an easy find.

They were probably a Mann Filter.
Skip: They were probably a Mann Filter (very common in German engines). There are many folks that think that the aftermarket are fine. I would only use one that was specifically designed for your engine. Many of these aftermarket filters do not have the proper check valves and a generally poorly made. They will work, but if you have a failure because you saved $2-3 on a filter, you will not be happy.

Try a Volkswagen dealer. I had a Pathfinder diesel in my previous boat and that is where I found them. It is a common engine for parts
