Does anyone know what oil filter is on a 2002 Tohatsu 9.9 electric start long shaft. It wasn't listed in the book. Also how difficult is it to change the oil while the boat is in the water?
Is the outboard a 2-stroke engine?? In other words, do you mix oil and gas for the fuel tank? If so, there is no oil filter. The oil and gas mix is the lubrication that the engine uses. If it's a 4-stroke, my guess is there isn't an oil filter either. I had a 4-stroke Honda and it had no oil filter. Just change the oil. That's it... RP..
John, I looked up the Tohatsu website. They have online owner's manuals. There are several different 9.9 HP. I included the link below. good luck, Mike D
