Okay, So now I have removed the headliner, scraped and wiped down below deck and am ready? to prime! So,water or oil base primer/sealer? Kilz or what???????
Yes,the carpeted panels. They are held in place by four screws each, through the top of the cabin. Not a real hard job to remove.Might have to have an extra pair of hands inside to hold the nuts.I'm going to leave mine out and paint, probablt oil base.Think that might hold up better.
Did you sand and use a de-waxing agent such as Interlux 202? If not adhesion might be an issue..P.S. In my experience oil based paints work best and two part paints even better than one part...
It's all glued to my boat. I'm in the middle of removing mine. Some, I was able to pull down by hand. Some I've used pliers to grab hold of to pull. And some, I've had to use pliers and a razor paint scraper to get it off. I only have a few sections left to remove. Eye protection and a dust mask are good to have since the glue (and most likely mold) gets everywhere.
48Dodge. Guessi lucked out for once.No glue, only mud wasps! Maisail. She had been on the hard for 10+ years.Much peeling.Scraped and wiped as much off as I could. Now,primer this afternoon. popeye
