Thinking about sailing the Ohio River next summer (around the Ashland, Ky. area); nice marina there; does anybody have any comments on the pros and cons of the river? I have always been in small lakes.

I am from Huntington, grew up in that area, used to swim the Ohio as a kid. You didn't mention what kind of boat you have, the current can run up around five MPH in that area, maybe more when the river is in flood stage. Best of luck. Paul

River sailing

I have a Starwind 22, thinking about Holiday Point, Ohio marina; doing a lot of work on the old boat right now in my garage.
