If you did, it had to have been on the CompuServe Sailing forum...known as the OLYC--Online Yacht Club. It was my first venture into cyberspace in 1994...I was active there until the internet killed it. Some of the people I met there became good "live" friends.
From your profile it looks like you've been around here for several years without saying much...glad you came out of the woodwork to reconnect with me!

Oh yes, that was it, CompuServe -- and dial-up modems! Those were the days. Bought my first 'big' boat in 1993 and enjoyed all the discussion and advice. I still buy CP and KO.
