I just lost my beautiful boat shed. The wharf owner needs the space. He would also like the shed so he made me a very reasonable offer for it which saves me the trouble of taking it apart and moving it. I don't have any place to move it to anyway so it's back to a boatyard and shrink wrap.

Fortunately, the boat is ready to go about anywhere with a quick haul out for a shave, haircut, and zincs. I'd planned a lot of exterior cosmetic work for this winter so she's going to look a lot more doughty next year than she might have and it's going to delay my departure in the spring for Canada.

Biggest problem is that I'm going to need a hobby for the winter. I've done a lot of stuff under shrink wrap before but I've worked my way through most of those kind of interior upgrades. Everything on my list this year I need space and cover for.

The problem is they don't make paint as tough as us downeasters. I built that shed in 10 days during the worst early winter weather in memory. By the time I was done, there were six inches of snow compacted into solid ice by my walking around on it before I got the tarps on. It took me an additional week with a pickax and two 50 pounds of ice melt to work my way down to the concrete. I worked nearly full time for two years in that shed without heat on these projects:

Before that, I worked two years without a shed doing things like installing the wind vane.

Less than that. During most of those two weeks it's raining
