We finally got the bulwarks off and Charles is getting them cleaned up:

We also pulled a deck plate out (in splinters) and found it 70% soft.

I found a split in that stringer. Looks like I have to take more out.

She looks strange with the bulwarks off.

I still have to pull this mess aft.

The cockpit needs to come out too.

Lotsa work to do yet....

I'm glad folks like the pictures. It's kind of a pictorial history of this refit that's turning into a restoration. Plus it's nice to have other eyes see something in a different way than mine on occasion.

Definately like the pictures and updates, I wish I had the time and money to undertake such a project. That boat is going to be awesome when you are done with it, it's very impressive how you are coming along with it. It does seem to be more of a restoration than a refit to me, but you might as well try to only do it once.

Cheers, and keep up the good work!

seeing those pictures makes my fingers itch
I studied wood turning and cabinetmaking back in Germany and I really miss working with Wood, but the Kids are gonna get bigger and eventually I'll get my hands nice and dirty again

I'm leaning heavily on my limited experience in cabinet making for this. That, some good books and a select friendly few over on the WBF. All 8 of my kids are grown and most of them have put time in on the boat.
