I have a H33.5 and am condering sailing offshore. I have a shoal keel and draw 4'6". Are there any problems with the boat I should consider before heading out?
My wife and I regularly sail from New York City to Atlantic City with no problems in our Hunter 340. That is a distance of about 65 miles and it takes us about 13 hours. We plan to make the jump from Miami to Bimini. But, true blue-water, offshore cruising? Not for us! John
Thanks for your response. I'm planning a direct trip across the Gulf. This would mean for me leaving the mouth of Mobile Bay and heading directly for Key West, a trip of nearly 450 miles. It would just about put me in the middle of the Gulf. Any suggestions based on experience would be helpful. ST
