Offshore Schools

Was wondering if someone could provide some info about schools that teach offshore passagemaking. Years from now I am considering sailing big water and am looking into schools for this. What about assisting (crew) for one of those delivery companies? Thanks

These guys are located in Ft. Lauderdale, and have a wide selection of classes. I used them some years ago and was very pleased. Check out their web site. www.bwss.com.

Try Southwest Florida Yachts in Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers area. Great folks and I believe they provide all instructions. I got my ASA Coastal Cruising cert. and really nice people and knowledgeable too.

There's an article in the April 2005 Cruising World about a school that teaches offshore sailing by doing so in the Pacific.
