Offshore sailing

Hello,I am looking for Hunter 40 owners who sailed across an ocean to have an idea of how the boat behaves. Is she an offshore boat or should I consider only this boat for coastal navigation? The Seaworthy 40' Hunter Legend - 1988

I have sailed down the entire West Coast and can attest to the 40' Hunter's capabilities, especially around Cape Mendecino in a 60 knot gale, as well as point Conception. I would suggest a DEEP reef in your main and no Jib if you encounter rough weather. Although the fun factor was very low the boat handled it well.Best of Luck,Ben PS: If you have any information on aft holding tanks I am in the market for a replacement for mine.

happy to hear these words about my favorite boat. please add "FAST!" we won our class at the ensenada race last year with baggy sails and a very green skipper and skipperete. back at it this year.
