Official Start Pushed Up

I'm sitting in the cockpit as we speak, enjoying a perfect day in S. Jersey. Took advantage of the nice day and started recommissioning a week early. I needed the therapy anyway!

Got all the old graphics off and started prep for the new name and hailing port application. Filled the hole with MarineTex so I can rebed the dodger frame (BTW, before you use the MarineTex, make sure the boatyard has turned ON the water! Had to wander around for 15 min with Michael Jackson gloves to find water). Installed the CATV inlet, the new zinc and then just lounged around for a while wondering how the inside of a boat can get so dirty when it's all closed up.

Only a few more things to do before splash on April 20.

Hope everyone is enjoying their prep for the upcoming season!! Just being down here in the salt air has changed my mood for the better!

My boat isn't even uncovered yet and it won't be for another few weeks. But, I know a guy who's boat is never pulled and we sailed Wed PM - the official kick off of the Wed PM races which occurs the first Wed after the time change. It was actually pretty nice but very little wind. No matter. The point of the sail is to exorsise the demon winter from our area.

Amen to that! Believe me, if I could have found the key to the boat lift (and figured out how to work it...and move all of the boats in front of mine) I would have been sailing!! It was nice to do some work in the beautiful weather. Unfortunately it's cold again and we are looking at a snow shower toward the end of the week. What a tease!
