did 9 chi-mac back in the nineties. what i learned was it beat the snot out of my beautiful old boat.
under phrf, a strong southerly wind could make me unbeatable by rating. headwinds made me dfl.
we sure did have a ton of fun trying. learned a lot on how to get the most out of my old cca boat.
2 biggest speed upgrades were, 2 bladed prop locked vertically in the aperture and brand new high tech racing sails. also keep my bottom racing smooth and clean.
got to meet a lot of keen sailors.
had many friends win their classes and a few win overall.
finally won the 'hundred miler' up on green bay. retired from racing with the trophy on my mantel.
