Off shoot question from "boom riding low"

How much real difference would it make to raise the goosneck 6" compared to buying a "new style" bigger, fancy shaped, battened, super stiff, see through sail that are on so many boats now? And so many different sized head sails, and furled heads change things too. Loose footed mains and furling mains? My point would be so that I could build the dodger a little taller. I have headroom, but more would be nice.

Didn't the skippers answer that already in that topic? I'm sure Maine Sail did.

Moving it changes the CLR & CLE (or whatever those really important relationship numbers are).
