Peggy, You replied and suggested lots of soapy water to clean the port hopper on my Hunter. I am afraid of flooding if I do that as I do not know where the water will go. Where will the water go and how do I remove it once it finds it's lowest level? Thanks John North

Water will drain into the bilge
Port "hopper"....sump??? If that's what it is, make sure the sump pump is on before flooding it with water. Otherwise, any flooding should drain into the bilge (which will also profit from a good cleaning)...where your bilge pumps SHOULD take care of it. But obviously, if you see that water is rising, not draining, turn off the hose!
