Can anyone offer any information regarding the Universal 12 Hp diesel engine especially the alternator. I have purchased many different sizes of pulley belts and can't find one to fit mainly because when loosening the tensioning bolt, the alternator has only about 1/2 inch slack as it hits the engine. Could this be the wrong alternator or is there something that can be removed to provide more adjustment for slightly smaller belts? Any suggestions would be appreciated. The latest belt has worn out and caused a over heating problem as there was not enough friction of the belt to drive the water pump.... Thanks Folks....I could use a belt!!!!!
