ODAY192 TABERNACLE PINS

MY ODAY192 MANUFACTURER'S RIGGING INSTRUCTION SAYS THAT AFTER YOU RAISE THE MAST ON THE AFT TABERNACLE PIN AND ATTACH THE HEADSTAY, TO "...PUT THE FORWARD PIN IN THE MAST TABERNACLE ..." THERE IS NO FORWARD HOLE IN MY TABERNACLE , NEITHER IN THE MAST CASTING NOR THE MATING DECK CASTING. ANYONE ELSE WITH THIS CONDITION? WHAT DOES ANYONE THINK OF DRILLING THROUGH BOTH FITTINGS TO CREATE A FORWARD RIN LOCATION ON THE TABERNACLE?

Greetings RonI own a 1985 O'day 192. My mast has one pin. As the mast is stepped, the mast pin drops down into a slot in the tabernacle, and from that point forward the forestay and backstay tension keep the mast in place. I would be glad to take a photo for you the next time I go to the boat.

James --Thanks for the info, I sounds like you have the same thing. I also have a 1985 model.I would appreciate a picture. I just got back from a welding shop who promised to weld my broken deck stepping casting for $20! I didn't think you could get anything fixed for $20.You must be either very brave, or highly talented, or crazy, to take a '192 out into San Francisco Bay. From my minor experience it's like sailing in a wind tunnel.
