ASAP need to replace the metal circular piece that fits on the stern end of the boom (same diameter as boom). See attached bad quality pic - left side on edge of dock clearly broken off. This is for an O'day Y'ngling made in early '70's. Need to fix ASAP for happy sails over next 2-3 weeks on St. Lawrence River. Parts source/leads welcome. Might we have to buy whole new boom?? I wouldn't buy another boom. If you can get a cap to fit on the end of that boom, all you need is a stainless steel tang plate and bolt it to the cap.
You may be able to add a tang or eye strap to this existing cap too.
I just added an eye strap to the back of my boom a couple of months ago for my topping lift. It was just a matter of drilling some holes and tapping them for threads for bolts.
