Oday Widgon Rigging

I recently was given and Oday Widgon. I have never sailed before or been around a sailboat. I have figured out generally how to put the sails on but am unsure about how the rigging should go. I need help. If you know of good sites to go to to learn about sailing or about how to rig my boat please email me.

Help

It's a little difficult to explain in this format. Since you are new to sailing may I make a suggestion. First would to work on your library. Sailing Fundamentals by Gary Jobson or Basic Sailing by M.B. George would be a good start. My next choice would be The Annapolis Book of Seamanship, or the Chapman Piloting Manual. After reading a little, check out the local yacht clubs. That is where I and many others have learned, or seek out professional instruction at a sailing school. By doing this you will learn not only how to rig your boat, but how to get the most out of it.

Rod,Thanks for the offer of help. I think I have figured out how to put the main sail and the jib on. What I am having some confusion on is where the line comes off the pulley on the boom then goes to ? Thanks, Jacque

Brian,Thanks for the advice. I will have to check on the books you suggested. As far as I know there are no sailing clubs, or schools around here. But it is something to look into. I thought of another resource, I work with the Boy Scouts of America and our Camp offers small boat sailing merit badge. I may have to go to camp.Thanks again,Jacque
