A freind of mine works at a summer camp, and he happened to notice a boat stored under his lodge. He had a look at it, saw it was a sail boat, and called me. I'm only 20, I've been sailing lil 15 footers since I was 13, not too much expeireced, and this thing has me boggled. All the boats I've sailed had a block (pulley) right around the middle of the boat, near the center board, for the tack line, and no jib. This Sprite does not. I have everything up and ready, accept for the tack line and the Jib. I havent worked on the jib yet becaus I still have to teach this mook how to sail, and I still have a bit to learn about jibs. Anyways, I cant figure out where the tack line goes, is there supposed to be a block, could it just be missing? or do I use the 2 smaller pullies affixed to the gunnels on either side? I have no idea how to figure that out, without threading the line through them each time i turn. Can any one help? Go ahead and mail me with your responce if ya want. Ohiotccoa@aol.com If I can figure it out, I might just buy it off them, they wont get much use out of it, too many little kids, plus I'm sick of having to borrow dads Zuma, and the cheapes boat available to me is a Sunflower.lol

Eric - Check the boom itself to see if there is a fitting for a pin. The tack of the mainsail should attach there. The blocks at the gunwales are for the jib sheets. Have you gotten the standing rig up and secured? If so, the jib will just hank to the forestay and get hauled up. The jib sheet come aft through those blocks. Justin - O'day Owners' Web
