Just a note to possibly explain D&R and ZEPHYR Spars, both a GREAT small companies to deal with!! However, both are SMALL companies and Rudy at D&R basically works alone with his Wife helping out in the office. I think he can/does have DWYER drop-ship spar orders? A phone call is always better than e-mail. ZEPHYR SPARS was THE original sparmaker for the R19 class in the early days and they still are a class-authorized supplier. Kenyon was the supplier in hte 1970's I think.
I have dealt with both D&R and ZEPHYR and can't figure out why they are not getting back to you....... If you call ZEPHYR again, be advised that they work 8-4:30 M-F with lunch from 12-1. They might have someone in on a Saturday morning... but when I was last there I recall that Saturdays weren't mentioned, although if CCSB has anyone in the office......well, they answer both phones!

PS: for anyone else looking to replace a R19 or DS boom, I have attached the drawing.

I just spoke to Rudy today to check up on an order. As always, his memory of details about specific models was very helpful in a discussion we had about boom vangs. It usually takes 3-4 tries for me to get him or Deb on the phone, but they are always pleasant and helpful and I have learned to build some lead time into my ordering. It doesn't bother me so much that they are too busy sometimes to answer the phone or call back; it's the price I pay for picking his brain.

I am lucky enough to be able to visit Rudy in person (usually!) when I need something, but most of the times that I did need to call... he helped me out right away. One time he didn't get back to me before I obtained what I needed elsewhere, but only once! To be fair, I needed to replace the CB up cable on my DS II and was working at a marine store at the time, at one time our store did rigging work and stil lhad most supplies, my buddy at work was able to make me a new Cb cable ASAP, so good or bad.... Rudy missed out on my order due to being on a rare vacation. Not sure that he lost any $$ on that though...... he had replaced the cable 3-4 years prior at no charge (warranty??).
As you may have noticed........ I sail in CCSB's front yard..... their dock is only 2 miles from my mooring, and less than 4 miles by car.

Well, finally got the boom delivered from Dwyer, couldn't be happier. Everyone there was a pleasure to deal with. Got fast answers and advice - really good customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
