Oday Ospray Canandaigua
Hello all - new to the site here. Just getting started with daysailers as I've only worked with Sunfish. I bought a 1962 Ospray but it is in need of some TLC. The mast doesn't even appear to be fitted for a foredeck step. I've found an old manual but it is a little light on the details and I haven't had much success finding good docs via the web. Any ideas? Thanks, Bruce

Bruce,
Check out this site for your boat model. http://www.iheartodays.com/ You may find some info on it. If not, call Rudy Nickerson of D&R Marine. I'm sure that he can steer you in the right direction. http://www.drmarine.com/ Also, there is an Ospray Association in the UK that may have info. Good luck!
Joe

We just picked up and hauled home an Ospray ourselves. Mast is shot, not sure what was done to it, but now we're in the market for a new one. I just fired off an email to D&R Marine, link is appreciated!

Cute little boat! We looked at DSI, but the price was right for this little piece of trouble.

You're better off calling Rudy than to email. He gets emails by the 100s and his wife Debbie does the best she can at answering them. I would call him.

Thanks for the responses all. I have had a couple of interesting discussions with folks about this lil boat. It looks as though the mast I have is stepped against the foredeck rather than through it. So, it's the wrong one and to top it off - it's three feet too short. After a little research, the cost/pain of finding a new mast or outfitting an extrusion may exceed the cost of a replacement ODay. *sigh*

At least I now have a trailer... :)
